MONEY MAGAZINE / ICR POLL: MAJORITY WOULD SAVE FOR RETIREMENT OVER VACATION SPLURGE

NEW YORK, NY [June 29, 2006] The majority of Americans (64%) would be happier to put money away for a more financially comfortable retirement rather than take an expensive, dream vacation over the next 12 months, this according to a recent Money/ICR poll of 1,010 Americans.

Three in ten Americans (30%) indicated they would rather take the expensive dream vacation.

Those more likely to choose a dream vacation over socking away money are more likely to have a higher education (35% college degree or higher) and live in a metropolitan area of the United States (31%).
