RETIREMENT OVER VACATION SPLURGE
NEW YORK, NY [June
29, 2006] The majority of Americans (64%) would be happier to put
money away for a more financially comfortable retirement rather than take an
expensive, dream vacation over the next 12 months, this according to a recent
Money/ICR poll of 1,010 Americans.
Three in ten Americans (30%)
indicated they would rather take the expensive dream vacation.
Those more likely to choose a dream
vacation over socking away money are more likely to have a higher education
(35% college degree or higher) and live in a metropolitan area of the United States
(31%).

The Money/ICR poll was conducted by
telephone with a nationally representative sample of 1,010 Americans from June
14th 18th, 2006.
The margin of error was plus or minus 3.08 percentage points.
The poll was conducted using ICRs telephone omnibus survey of adults
