ICR Confirms Economic Stimulus Package Top Priority, Especially To The Rich
Media, PA January 15, 2009 According to a recent survey conducted by ICR / International Communications Research,
focusing on an economic stimulus package was mentioned as the new
administrations top priority by 72% of Americans with annual household incomes
in excess of $75,000. This compares to
only 50% among those whose annual household incomes are $25,000 or less.
ICR surveyed 1,010 Americans and found that the majority of
all Americans feel that focusing on an economic stimulus package should be
President Elect Obamas top priority.
This was mentioned by more than half of Americans (59%), and nearly six
times more often than healthcare reform which was the second most popular
response (10%).

Regarding the historic significance of this event, 61% of
Americans claim they will watch the inauguration on January 20th. African Americans (91%), Hispanics (71%) and
Democrats (80%) are the most likely to watch.
However, even Republicans and Independents at 50% realize that this is

Methodology
The survey was conducted using ICRs EXCEL omnibus. EXCEL is a national telephone omnibus
service designed to meet the standards of quality associated with custom
research surveys. ICRs EXCEL survey consists of a standard set
of introductory and demographic questions supplemented by a changing series of
questions on various topics. Each EXCEL survey consists of a minimum of
1,000 interviews, with 50% Men and 50% Women.
This survey was conducted with 1,010 adults from January 8 - 12,
2009. Because this is a sample, and not
an actual population, an associated margin of error applies. At a 95% level of confidence, the margin of
error for this sample of 1,010 is +/- 3.1
